For 25 years, Molasses Creek's high-energy performances and heartfelt songwriting has brought the love of their coastal home to the stage. The band's elegant harmonies and arrangements, stellar songwriting, blazing instrumentals, and quirky sense of humor have won loyal followers throughout the United States and around the world.

Molasses Creeks inspiration arose amidst exotic fig trees and rich tidewater marshes of isolated Ocracoke Island, NC. Only accessible by ferry, Ocracoke is an enchanting step out of modern times into a world of captivating natural beauty, rich maritime history, ghostly shipwrecks, heroic lifesavers, crafty pirates, and a community of 900 independently minded residents.

Molasses Creek has recorded 16 albums, reaching the #4 and #5 spots on the National Folk Radio DJ Charts in 2012 & 2014. Their latest releases, Waterbound and People Get Ready, have received acclaim from audiences across the country.
Ocracoke Alive’s Deepwater Theater and Music Hall (84 School Road, Ocracoke, NC) is the island headquarters for Ocracoke Alive, as well as the home venue for summertime shows. Relax in our indoor and air-conditioned performance hall and enjoy the finest in music and comedy theater that Ocracoke has to offer! 2018's lineup includes Julia Howard's musical A Tale of Blackbeard (Mondays at Ocracoke School or Ocracoke Community Center) , The Dingbatter's Guide to Ocracoke Island (Hit show from 2017 on Wednesdays), and Ocracoke's nationally renown folk band Molasses Creek (Thursdays).  If you'd like to experience a uniquely Outer Banks thing to do June through September, be in these audiences!  We are located across from the Methodist Church on School Rd.
